Meet Darah.
I grew up around purity culture and in religious institutions that shamed the very idea of sex outside of marriage. There were times I heard my youth pastor compare a “girl’s purity” to chewing gum (and don’t even get me started on the lack of sex education). I heard what my friends would say about the LGBTQ community which caused me to hide who I was even further. Through years of therapy and deconstruction of Christianity, I committed to rediscovering who I was and what I want moving forward.
I now get to come alongside clients and support them to undo the societal and religious messages around sex and shame. I work to create a non-judgmental space for individuals to find empowerment in their sex lives, explore relationship constructs, and curiously approach their gender identity and/or sexual orientation.
As a queer, nonbinary therapist (who sometimes swears like a sailor), I am direct and empathic. I aim to create a therapeutic space where you will become more you and I will become more me. There’s something powerful about therapy that transforms us and I hope, when you’re ready, I can sit with you through that process.
Outside of the office I love traveling and home renovation projects. Beyond that I enjoy whooping ass in Mario Kart, thrifting with my partner(s), and hiking with my rescue pups. I’m constantly on the search for another creative outlet that I’ll hyper fixate on for a few months - right now it’s mixed media art.
